Itinerary

Departing our local area, we travel north to the Scottish border at Gretna where we make a break, before continuing our scenic drive through Dumfries and Galloway and to our hotel, having time to relax before dinner this evening.

Christmas Eve –This morning we depart the hotel for a scenic tour to discover the beauty of the the Rhins of Galloway with dramatic coastal scenery and the scenic harbour village of Portpatrick, a pretty town of pastel-coloured houses around a small bay with cliffs forming the backdrop, with free time available to explore. We enjoy our scenic return journey to the hotel, relax and enjoy the Christmas cheer, before our evening meal.

Christmas Day – ‘Merry Christmas. ’ We invite you to join us for a Christmas Day filled with tradition and entertainment. Start your Christmas morning with a full Scottish breakfast, then enjoy an optional curling session or simply relax. After our five-course Christmas lunch, you might test your skills and participate in a traditional Christmas Day Bonspiel. The King’s Speech will be shown in the lounge at 3pm with mulled wine, tea or coffee and mince pies. As evening arrives, a light buffet will be served, followed by a night of live music, dancing, and a festive quiz.

Boxing Day –After a hearty breakfast, you may wish to take a relaxing stroll of the grounds and surrounding area, enjoy the leisure facilities within the hotel, or enter the table tennis competition in the games room, before our light boxing day lunch. In the afternoon, if you wish, take part in the Bowling Tournament in the games room, before our evening meal and Christmas quiz.

Departing the hotel after breakfast, we say goodbye to Scotland, as we make our return journey with suitable comfort breaks, en route to arrive home for approximately late afternoon.
