Departing our local area we journey North, with suitable comfort breaks en route to arrive at the Fisher’s Hotel in Pitlochry for our overnight stay.
After a hearty Scottish breakfast, our journey takes us through the Cairngorms National Park Mountain Range via Inverness, before crossing over the Moray, Beauly, Cromarty and the Dornoch Firth, and so to Dornoch for lunch. After lunch, we cross Loch Fleet to Golspie and Dunrobin Castle. Continuing our scenic coastal journey, via Brora, Helmsdale, Dunbeath, Laidhay Croft Museum and on to Thurso and the Pentland Hotel for our stay.
Departing the hotel, our journey takes us along the top of Scotland, passing Dunnet Bay & Head, St. John’s Sea Loch to the included visit to the Castle of Mey including the famous gardens. We also include a visit to the Royal Church (Canisbay Kirk), the most northerly parish church on mainland Scotland, with many connections with the Royals who have used it for many years including the Queen Mother, Queen Elizabeth, King Charles and many more. King Charles installed a plaque inside the church in memory of his grandmother, the Queen Mother. We continue our journey via Gills Bay to John O’ Groats and Duncansby Head (if time permits) before returning to the hotel.
Today we journey to Scrabster to board the ferry to Stromnes, this cruise takes in fantastic views of the famous sea stacks, which include the famous ‘Old Man of Hoy’ (famous land mark), including St. John’s Head, before arriving in Stromness where we meet our local guide for our full day tour on Orkney, which includes a visit to Skara Brae and Skaill House. We visit the Italian Chapel built by Italian prisoners of war during WWII. We then travel over the Churchill Barriers, the construction of which was ordered by Winston Churchill after the tragic torpedoing of the battleship ‘Royal Oak’ in Scapa Flow during 1939. From here we continue to Kirkwell for free time and lunch before our afternoon ferry crossing to the mainland.
Departing the hotel after breakfast, our scenic journey takes us to Inverness for our lunch break before continuing our journey to Pitlochry for our overnight stay.
Departing the hotel we make our return journey with suitable comfort breaks en route to arrive home early evening.
