Itinerary

Departing from our local area, we journey south with a suitable comfort break en route before arriving at the Best Western Carlton Hotel in Bournemouth.

After a leisurely breakfast, we visit the wonderful Bournemouth Alpine Christmas Markets. Browse amongst the chalets of food, drink and local craftspeople showcasing their festive goodies. The centre of the market is the delightful Alpine Bar where you can enjoy a festive mulled wine or hot chocolate and relax enjoying the atmosphere of the market. A Christmas Tree Wonderland of over 100 glittering trees and illuminations create a spectacular walk from the market down to the seafront. After your visit to the market, the rest of the day is free to enjoy some of the other delights of this seaside resort.

Departing after breakfast we journey to Dorchester, the county town of Dorset. The town is the fictional ‘Casterbridge’ of Hardy ’s novels. Today is market day where traders will be showcasing local produce and gifts for you to browse. Leaving Dorchester, we journey to Weymouth, a resort with lots of character, take a stroll along the Esplanade or explore the interesting harbour area. There is a possibility of the Christmas Markets being available for us to enjoy, subject to dates and times.

This morning after breakfast we journey to the nearby port of Poole with its busy harbour and famous pottery. Free time is available to explore and browse the Christmas market before we board the boat for our festive cruise around Poole Harbour, enjoy mince pies and mulled wine whilst listening to live commentary provided by the captain ensuring we don’t miss a key sight.

Departing the hotel after breakfast we make our return journey, with suitable comfort breaks en route, to arrive home approximately late afternoon.
