Description

This short break is an ideal way to get into the festive spirit, enjoy a memorable visit to Longleat, where the incredible Festival of Light will be taking place. This is a magical experience, with the stunning Elizabethan house adorned with festive decoration, outside, the ‘Capability’ Brown- landscaped grounds come alive with a series of wondrous life-sized Chinese lanterns. Illuminated characters, animals, plants and buildings create a glowing winter wonderland of fantastic scenes. The Festival of Lights extends to Longleat Safari Park, where visitors can see illuminated displays from the comfort of our coach during the drive-through safari experience. We’ll also soak up the magical atmosphere of Bristol & Gloucester Quays Christmas markets.

The Aztec Hotel & Spa is a stylish hotel located in North Bristol. Facilities include an indoor swimming pool, sauna, and steam room. All bedrooms are en suite with a television, telephone and hairdryer. The hotel does have a lift.

Day 1 -

Departing our local area we journey to Bristol to enjoy the Christmas Market and festivities. Located in the heart of the city, the market boasts cosy chalets and wooden stalls selling traditional food, unique gifts and hand- crafted ornaments, all of which are towered over by a giant Christmas tree. Grab yourself a hot chocolate or mulled wine and meander through the huts. Leaving Bristol, we make the short journey to our hotel, the Aztec Hotel & Spa for our evening meal and two nights stay.

Day 2 -

Departing the hotel after breakfast , we journey to Longleat for the highlight of our tour ‘Longleat and the festival of Light’ Wander through the stunning Longleat House, dressed for Christmas, widely regarded as one of Britain’s finest examples of Elizabethan architecture and enjoy the traditional Christmas decorations. As darkness falls, the park is transformed into a magical winter wonderland by incredible illuminated displays set within over 30 acres of splendid ‘Capability ’ Brown landscaped grounds. Departing Longleat, we return to the hotel for our later evening meal.

Day 3 -

Departing after breakfast we journey to the nearby Gloucester Quays Christmas Market. Nestled around an ice rink in Orchard Square, the market features live entertainment alongside traditional chalets selling high quality food, drink and unique festive gifts that you won’t find on the high street. Leaving Gloucester, we commence our homeward journey, to arrive home approximately early evening.
