Departing our local area we journey to Folkestone to board our mid-morning Eurotunnel crossing to Calais. On arrival in Calais we make our way to Paris to join the MS Seine Princess, for our river cruise, with a comfort break en route. We have time to settle into our cabins before meeting the crew and enjoying a welcome cocktail. Setting sail, we cruise along the Seine to take in enchanting Paris by night. Nothing is more romantic than the French capital at sunset as the buildings and monuments light up one by one. We'll enjoy dinner on board and cruise through the night.
Enjoy the morning cruising towards La Roche-Guyon through the enchanting landscapes of the Seine’s meanders, where picturesque villages and limestone cliffs unfold along the water. Onboard, indulge in a tasting of Norman cheeses, emblematic of the regional terroir, renowned for their authenticity and rich flavours. Explore La Roche-Guyon, relax on board the ship or book an optional excursion to Claude Monet's house and gardens. Officially classified as one of the ‘most beautiful villages of France’ La Roche-Guyon, an enchanting village situated next to the river and beneath ancient chateau ruins, is a treasure trove of history and art. The emblematic 12th-century Château, a site that inspired Victor Hugo and Claude Monet, stands as a testament to the area’s timeless allure. The village and its captivating environment mesmerize all who visit, offering lovely walks along the riverfront or up the hillsides. This evening we navigate towards Caudebec-en-Caux.
Enjoy a memorable visit in Caudebec- en-Caux, a town where history meets natural splendour. This picturesque destination is famed for its magnificent Notre Dame de Caudebec Gothic church and captivating, quaint streets. Step back in time among the traditional half-timbered houses and soak up the tranquil ambiance. Explore Caudebec- en-Caux further with an optional excursion, Normandy of Yesteryear, the Charming Villages and Medieval Treasures, where lunch is included, or if you prefer, relax on the ship.
This morning enjoy cruising towards Honfleur, along the peaceful meanders of the Seine. Admire the diversity of the riverbanks, from verdant valleys and picturesque villages to the unique light that inspired so many impressionist painters. Often regarded as the most picturesque spot on the northern French coast. In the afternoon, spend time in Honfleur, relax on the ship or book an optional excursion if you wish to the Côte Fleurie.

In the afternoon if you wish, discover the D-Day Beaches. Honfleur is a delightful town with its old harbour, sheltering both fishing boats and luxurious pleasure craft, beautifully preserved and surrounded by a perfect waterfront of pastel-coloured 16th- to 18th-century houses, many converted to seafood restaurants. Watch the talented artists capturing the captivating views along the waterfront, while the intricate maze of streets behind is also well worth discovering. The eaves of the tall half-timbered buildings almost touch, and on the streets below is an abundance of traditional shops selling antiques, books and fine foods. This evening, we navigate towards Rouen.
We awake in Rouen, one of Europe’s finest medieval cities and scene of many momentous events over the centuries, explore the beautifully tangled alleyways, lined with antique shops, tasteful boutiques and countless restaurants, serving exceptional local cuisine emphasising the country’s outstanding gastronomic heritage. The Place du Vieux- Marché is one of the city’s most poignant spots; a large cross marks the point where the ‘Maid of Orléans’ Joan of Arc was burned at the stake for her beliefs. Organise if you wish an optional excursion of a walking tour in Rouen and The Jeanne d’Arc Historial, or if you prefer, relax on the ship. We spend the afternoon cruising down the Seine, immersing ourselves in a wealth of scenery. Be captivated by the serenity and richness of the journey with the striking castles, and the vibrant life along the banks to the heart of the capital. Tonight, we enjoy our Gala Evening.
Following breakfast, we disembark the ship at 9am and bid farewell to the crew. We re-join the coach and journey to Calais for our Eurotunnel crossing. On arrival in Folkstone, we continue our journey, to arrive home early evening.
