Itinerary

Departing our local area, we travel south with suitable comfort breaks en route to the Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Club.

Departing the hotel we Journey to the Lost Gardens of Heligan, one of the most mysterious estates in England for our included visit. Lost to the brambles of time since the outbreak of WWI, this Sleeping Beauty was re-awakened in 1990 to become Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Today Heligan’s 200 acres are a paradise for the explorer, wildlife, plant lover and garden romantic. After our visit, we’ll make our way to the nearby fishing village of Mevagissey, named after two Irish saints, St. Meva and St. Issey, this picturesque village dates back to at least the early 14th century. Here you can stroll around the maze of narrow streets where you ’ll find plenty of seafood restaurants that the village is renowned for, as well as the multitude of pubs, cafes, galleries and shops that cluster around the harbour walls.

Today we journey to Falmouth town quay where we have arranged for a 2-hour river cruise charter with commentary exploring the beautiful scenery and wildlife along the Fal River. After your cruise, enjoy free time in Falmouth, for lunch and to explore, with its fascinating maritime heritage at the National Maritime Museum set on the docks, watch the boats in the harbour, or stroll through the bustling town centre.

Departing the hotel after breakfast we journey to the picturesque town of Looe, with its rich fishing history, and pretty little harbour. The narrow streets and passageways wind their way down to the sandy beach, adorned with many 16th & 17th century buildings, housing many boutique style shops, restaurants, cafes and bars. Leaving Looe we continue our journey to Polperro, one of the most popular and picturesque villages in Cornwall. Step back in time in this unspoilt fishing village, with Its beautiful cottages which cling to steep hillsides around a small harbour with spectacular views of land and sea making it an artist’s paradise.

Departing the hotel after breakfast we make our return journey, with suitable comfort breaks en route, to arrive home approximately late afternoon.
