Itinerary

Departing our local area, we travel south with suitable comfort breaks en route to the Lanhydrock Hotel and Golf Club.

Today we enjoy our included visit to the Eden Project, dubbed as the Eighth Wonder of the World by some, a gateway into the relationships between people and plants and a fascinating insight into the story of mankind’s dependence on plant life.

Today we travel to the Bodmin Railway for our 2 hour steam journey through scenic Cornish countryside. In the afternoon free time is available in Bodmin to visit various museums or for those who wish we could journey to the National Trust property Lanhydrock House and Garden. The house is impressive and a combination of 17th & 19th centuries. (Non-members extra cost).

Today we journey to the rugged north coastline to visit Boscastle, a tiny port with a natural harbour, set in a narrow ravine and boasts some very attractive thatches and white-washed cottages where we make a break. Continuing our journey to Tintagel, with its dramatic sea views from the castle ruins on both the headland and island, free time is available here before our visit to Port Isaac. A traditional fishing village, Port Isaac is set amidst rugged and magnificent scenery on Cornwall’s north coast, famous for the local sea shanty group called ‘Fisherman’s Friends’ who used to sing most Friday Evenings on the ‘Platt’ and also was the setting for the popular TV series Doc Martin’. Free time is available here before returning to the hotel.

After breakfast we make our return journey with suitable comfort breaks en route to arrive home for approximately late afternoon.
