Description

Experience Switzerland with its snow-capped mountains, rolling pastures and spectacular landscapes and relax as you journey through the breathtaking Alpine scenery aboard the famous Bernina Express. Klosters offers a unique combination of a renowned mountain resort and the idyll of an unspoilt Graubünden village. It is a picture book holiday resort, with authentic traditions and stands in stark contrast to the nearby Alpine Metropolis of Davos. The resort has an air of elegance and became a stylish destination from the 1950s onwards and is well known for being the winter playground of Royals and Celebrities. This is a destination where you can truly relax amongst the mountains.

The Silvretta Park Hotel, is an alpine-style hotel of high quality but with a relaxed, informal atmosphere, is set in an idyllic location. The hotel offers en suite bedrooms, which are well furnished and include Wi-Fi, a hairdryer and TV . There is a cosy piano bar, lounge, restaurants and leisure facilities. Itinerary

Departing from our local area we journey to Dover for our ferry crossing to Calais. On arrival in Calais, we continue our journey to our overnight hotel in Saarbrucken, for dinner, bed & breakfast.

Departing Saarbrucken after breakfast, we continue our journey through the French countryside of the Alsace region into Switzerland, to arrive at our hotel in Klosters.

A day at leisure to explore this picture postcard unspoiled Alpine resort. Take some time to wander through this peaceful mountain village discovering streets filled with traditional mountain chalets, atmospheric restaurants, cafes and stylish boutiques. Or, maybe take a dip in the pool, enjoy the sauna and wellness centre or relax with a cocktail in the Piano Bar. We include a Davos Klosters guest travel card which provides discounted travel on local trains and buses for convenient access into the stunning surrounding villages.

Today we journey to Tiefencastel Station where we board the Bernina Express and embark on a one way trip through the mountains to Tirano, Italy. The panoramic carriages of the Bernina Express provide unobstructed views of some of the Alps' most jaw-dropping scenery, a 3.5-hour, journey between Switzerland and Italy, through 55 tunnels and 196 bridges, with Alpine gradients as steep as 1 in 7, on a railway built in 1896-1904 and now declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. From the snowy Swiss peaks to the rolling hills of the Italian countryside, sit back and appreciate your front-row seats to these natural wonders. Our coach awaits us in Italy to return us to the resort.

Today our excursion takes us through the Zugen Gorge to the unspoilt alpine village of Bergün, where free time is available before continuing our journey to St. Moritz. There is an opportunity to travel on the Albula Railway from Bergun to St. Moritz for those who wish (extra cost). Free time is available in St. Moritz, the playground of the rich and famous. Chic, elegant and exclusive, St. Moritz was the birthplace of winter Alpine Tourism and has twice hosted the winter Olympic Games. Leaving St. Moritz our return journey takes us via the Fluela Pass.

Today we visit the oldest City in Switzerland. We board the Arosa Bahn from Chur, commencing a sedate journey through the town before climbing up into the mountains where Arosa awaits with fresh mountain air and sunshine. Our journey on the Arosa Line is 1 hour in each direction. We climb 1,000 metres in just 26 kilometres. Enjoy the stunning mountain vista and the town of Arosa, before we descend back into Chur for free time.

Sadly today it’s time to bid farewell to the Silvretta Park Hotel and commence our journey to our overnight hotel in Saarbrucken, for dinner, bed & breakfast.

Departing our overnight hotel, we continue our journey with suitable comfort breaks en route before arriving in Calais for our crossing to Dover. On arrival in Dover we continue our homeward journey to arrive mid evening.
