Itinerary

Departing from our local area we journey through South Wales with suitable comfort breaks en route to arrive at the port in Fishguard for our afternoon crossing to Rosslare. On disembarking we continue our journey to the Dooley’s Hotel, Waterford, Ireland.

Departing the hotel after breakfast we journey to New Ross to enjoy a guided tour of the Dunbrody Famine Ship, moored on the quayside in the town, where costumed performers provide a world-class interpretation of the famine emigrant experience, providing a unique insight into the bravery and fortitude of the Irish people. Free time is available in New Ross to explore the Ros Tapestry Exhibition and shops, before re- joining the coach and our return to Waterford for free time to explore. Learn the secrets behind the treasures of Ireland’s oldest city with a visit to Waterford Treasures Medieval Museum (*extra cost) or indulge in some retail therapy in the high street stores, local boutiques and quirky shops.

Departing after breakfast we journey to Kilkenny were we have an introduction to this well- preserved medieval town with a ride on the Kilkenny Road Train. Sit back and relax as it takes us through the narrow streets to reveal the abbey, and cathedral among other highlights. Departing Kilkenny we enjoy a scenic tour through Irish countryside before returning to the hotel.

Departing the hotel we journey to the Heritage Narrow Gauge Railway of Waterford & Suir Valley in Bilberry, where we board the train for a one way journey along the picturesque banks of the River Suir to the famous Mount Congreve Gardens, where we make a visit. Located in the heart of County Waterford and open year-round, the world- renowned Mount Congreve Gardens are a haven for plant and history lovers alike as well as for those simply looking to relax in nature. Boasting one of the largest private collections of plants globally & described as ‘A Great Garden of the World’ the entire collection features plants from every continent.

Sadly, we bid farewell to Ireland and travel to Rosslare Port for an early sailing to Pembroke. Due to the early start, we have included a late breakfast/brunch on board. On disembarking at Pembroke, we continue our journey with an adequate comfort break to arrive home early evening.
