Itinerary

Departing from our local area, we journey south with suitable comfort breaks en route, before arriving at the Langham Hotel in Eastbourne.

Today we have a scenic drive through the countryside to the Bluebell Railway at Sheffield Park, where we board the steam train for our included return journey to East Grinstead. After our journey we have free time at Sheffield Park to explore the museum and have lunch before our journey back to Eastbourne and our hotel.

This morning, we travel to Hastings, a historic and vibrant seaside town, famous for its rich history and maritime heritage. Free time is available for you to explore, stroll along the Victorian pier, discover the ruins of Hastings Castle, or enjoy a wide array of shops and restaurants. In the afternoon, we visit The British Tea Museum in the old town of Hastings, which celebrates the time-honoured rituals of the British teatime. We enjoy a workshop on the social history of tea and taste two fine teas accompanied by a scone topped with cream & jam.

Departing the hotel after breakfast, we journey through the Sussex countryside to the village of Bodiam and it’s heritage station where we join the Kent and East Sussex Railway for a nostalgic steam journey to Tenterden. Across the border in Kent, enjoy free time in Tenterden, a lovely little town surrounded by Kent’s tranquil countryside, known as the ‘Jewel of the Weald’ , which offers fascinating history, a wealth of architecture, tea rooms and excellent shopping. Leaving Tenterden, we have a scenic return journey to Eastbourne and our hotel.

Departing the hotel after breakfast we make our return journey, with suitable comfort breaks en route, to arrive home approximately late afternoon.
